I think people responding here are way too hard on this guy. Americans are overwhelmingly soft in mind and body. Just look at all the babies during the pandemic! Many Americans are sedentary and barely move, and others in industrialized and postindustrialized nations. The US has an epidemic of obesity, and people are mocking this guy! Additionally, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone isn't just a physical thing. How many people work dead end jobs and refuse to change their circumstances because they are comfortable with the familiar and routine, but not happy? Many! Comfort can take many forms….it doesn't have to be physical comfort. Embracing discomfort, physical and otherwise, is about growth in all it's myriad ways. It's about taking on challenges and accepting change in your life. And change scares many, many people who would rather live within the constraints of a familiar circle.
