This is the arguement against opie right here whether joe realizes it or not. He was the guy trying to keep it like radio. He was always the "fuck the boss" guy but i bet in those meetings he was all about "you know its just for the air" "its just a radio persona". He was the only one interrupting funny with phone calls and nonsense stories. I guess they wouldnt have had the platform of radio if they didnt have that overgrown fratboy douchebag keeping it between the lines
Nothing beats classic O&A. Endlessly re-listenable. So amazing there was a crew of brilliant East coast comics who didn’t do rehearsed bits and who didn’t worry about “branding” or having a persona. Just quick-witted ball busters.
