The biggest obstacle to caring for the homeless isn't money. It isn't space, It's finding enough qualified medical professionals who are willing to care for the mentally ill.
The pandemic's effect on staffing issues has only worsened the issue. Only education, retail and fast food restaurants and social work have higher staffing shortages, turnover rates and less interest in looking for employment than being a healthcare professionals.
And as someone whose mother is a former teacher and is currently working in the fast food industry, I know how difficult it is to perform in these jobs. It's not easy. They require a specific set of people skills that not a great deal of people have.

Iβve heard from a few people that are in the health profession that someone close to you passing away can somehow trigger something in your mind that can really take you away. Itβs really sad.
