The part Edward misses out, when he states that no grain storage facilities were found at Göbekli Tepe, it could well be because only a fraction of it has been excavated and the storage facilities could still be buried beneath the ground. As well as that, many other sites have been found in the same area that are also as of yet unexcavated, so there may well be evidence unearthed at these sites of storage facilities, living quarters, communal spaces and who knows what else….until they dig it up we will never learn the truth.
I am open to both ideas, it could be settled communities with agriculture, it could well have been hunter gatherers who got together now and again to build this place, but those gatherings must have been happening year after year for centuries to create such a huge site.
BUT! If they were binge feasting surplus food , , that food would have been finished before they managed to get just one of those huge stones in place (unless they had a way of preserving and storing it :0 )…, so what? some moved stones, others carved them, some people cooked, some people shifted waste material, some planned the site? Starting to sound more and more like an organised society than a bunch of nomadic people at a Jacob's join work weekend once a year year.

I have never drank alcohol, as kid I saw the damage it did to my father, uncles, the neighborhood I grew up in, in the Bronx. No thank you.
