At 5:00 to 5:20 my understanding here, as to why people would drink beers as a more safe reliable beverage, rather than tainted poisoned dirty sewage water, from a pond or wherever you find water laying around, is that….. The reason is that, beer is safer, because (and this is just what I've always thought, but I'm not an expert) is that beer requires boiling. You create a liquid mixture. You cook it. Then you let it ferment for a while. Then you can filter it or distill it. But in that process, there is boiling that occurs, so that's why beer was historically the safer beverage, than water. Again, this was my understanding of this issue. This video, they never mentioned boiling will purify water, because boiling kills off the microbes. (bacteria.)
Weird how people dont realize that alcohol itself, just like other drugs, isn't some evil poison that will ruin your life, but rather that the way you use alcohol, is an indication of a greater problem in yourself.
