Dear Melissa, please do not speak on behalf of us Muslims and our Qura’an as though you are a scholar, it is both offensive and belittling. “Read” as the first word of the Qura’an has so much more weight to it than what you perceive, it does not mean “read this one thing” it emphasizes the importance of education. OurProfit Mohammed (PBUH) was illiterate and he spoke the most important words to ever land on earth (reason number 1 million we are proud to be Muslim). Harvard University recognizes Qura’an as one of the best expressions of justice but where is that in any western media?
Not all western ideals are what we here wish for and THAT is what ruined the mission to “reform” the Middle East.
How about for once the west stops projecting their own idealism and respect other cultures, what you are doing tackling education is admirable. But walking into a refugee camp and calling the entirety of the Middle East uneducated is like seeing an Asian man walking down the street and calling him Chinese. We are not all one.
The reason why Wikipedia isnt translated to Arabic is because we are wise enough and aware enough not get our information from a platform that gets changed by a 7 year old everytime his favorite YouTuber is in a new scandal.
Translating books from English to Arabic is admirable as well, do you have any information on how many books have been translated from Arabic to English throughout time?

I live in a country where education is free for all, mandatory and non-negotiable, parents get questioned even in the smallest of towns why their kids are in fields and not in schools. They get free education and their parents get funding from the government.
How about looking up some of the good for once, we have free healthcare, free education and so much more. And if people focused more on reform within their own countries maybe then we can see a real change in the world.
I love you Joe and what you attempt to do by being an independent media source, but how are you any different than any main stream media outlet if everything you ever show on the Middle East is exactly what is being spoon fed to you by said outlets. My wish is for you to one day host a person born and raised here that can speak on our behalf without projecting their own world view. Give us first hand experienced speakers (I can make a list), thank you.
