There can be a lot of positives to mono-cultures as well though. I’d say Japan being extremely safe and it’s people living extremely long is a good indicator of that
Yeah even growing up in the philippines the way I can get new toys like tamiya models and beyblades or new pc or playstation games was by either saving up or getting 100 on tests. There was no consolation for getting 99 or lower.
With regards to the party thing, you risk more as an international students when you party. Should anything happen at the party scene, and you are found to have committed any given serious offense, you could lose your privilege to study in that country. While irl, some policemen wouldn't press any criminal charges for underage drinking or possessing a fake id, it is still not a risk you should take.
