If Melissa bothered to visit China, she'd find a truly magnificent country.
China has hundreds of beautiful, clean, safe, modern, gleaming cities. Compare these to America's decrepit cities. LOL.
China has spectacular infrastructure — roads, bridges, high-speed rail, subways, airports, seaports, power generation, etc. Compare these to America's infrastructure. LOL.
China is lifting more people out of poverty and adding them to China's burgeoning middle class. The opposite is happening in America. LOL.
The latest Edelman Trust Barometer (2024) was just published. It shows that China’s rating has slipped 4 points from last year. It also shows that USA’s and UK’s ratings have slipped 2 and 7 points, respectively, from last year. The rating of the highest G7 country, Canada, also slipped 2 points.
So here are the results:
China — 85%
Canada — 49%
USA — 40%
UK — 30%
The Chinese trust their government much, much more than the Canadians, Americans, and Brits do.
The American Dream is garbage. Look at the current state of America. What is so desirable about it?
America has growing poverty and growing economic inequality.
America has rampant homelessness.
America has countless millions of Americans who can't afford health insurance. Many go bankrupt over medical bills.
America has declining life expectancy. For a developed country, this is a huge embarrassment.
America has declining education.
America has crumbling infrastructure.
America has rampant gun violence and daily mass shootings!
America has a Fentanyl addiction epidemic.
America has mass incarceration, the highest number and the highest per capita rate in the world.
Most Americans work multiple jobs in order to make ends meet.
Queues to food banks grow longer and longer every year.
Do you know who enjoys the American Dream? The top 10 percent, or even top one percent, of Americans. The average American has a shit life.
Chinese society is communal, whereas Western society is individualistic. China is about "we," while the West is about "me, me, me." The West is really big on selfishness. The Western concept of "freedom" is based on selfishness and ego.
So I ask, which is better for humanity? Which leads to a stronger world?
The unregulated Internet is a very dangerous thing. It allows cyberbullying, hate speech, incitement to violence, fake news, propaganda lies, and many other toxic materials. These things cause harm to society.
China's government has a duty and a responsibility to protect its society from harm, especially from external harm. That's why it regulates the Internet. I have a hard time understanding why this is a bad thing. I wish Western governments would also regulate the Internet and get rid of all the toxic content. Our world would be a lot better off for it.
She doesn't speak like a recent emmigrated Chinese but a paid troll to demonize China. Do enjoy yr life in America. 1.4billion Chinese wish u well n safe in America n oh, u r not welcome back. Good riddance!
