They are trained through abuse. I went to Thailand and wanted to see the elephants painting. They don't paint. They have been abused to do that Joe. Please do more research. The Elephant Nature Park in Chaing Mai I went to doesn't allow any riding at all. it Is bad for their backs. At the park each elephant has a person and they have been retired here.

I guess joe has not seen that many animal videos on you tube. All animals are sentient and self aware. That is why they have ownership of territorial grounds, fight for their rights to breed, are afraid to die. You can’t be afraid to die or own anything or have a status without being self aware.
