The Bible is not a reliable historical source because it does not meet the standard criteria of source reliability used by historians. The Bible is not, as many believers assume, eye witness testimony. Reliable sources are generally based on authors who were eye witnesses to an event (i.e. it is a primary source). Since any particular source may be fabricating their story, multiple independent sources are usually required for confidence. Establishing the lack of author biases, including religious motivations, is also necessary if a work is to be read at face value. The Bible satisfies none of these requirements.
Based on historical and archaeological research, there are known historical inaccuracies in the Bible. The Bible is considered Mythological by most historians. Historians know the Gospels are largely or entirely Myths because they share the same characteristics in that they are an apparently normal story except:
The text is structured to convey an underlying meaning, usually to convey some Political or Value System,
Using Symbols that are familiar the intended audience.
Refers to or retells other myths and stories but often some aspects are changed to make a specific point.
Historical improbabilities, occurrence of miracles or people acting unrealistically.

If animal sacrifices achieved forgiveness, then there would be no reason for Jesus to die for our sins. The only way to view the Old testament is that God pardoned the Sins of Israel until the Messiah Jesus came and dealt with Sin.
Old Testament was a measure of sin. If you had sin, you went to the place of waiting and waited on Jesus to bring the cure for sin to earth from heaven. Then, when his covering of flesh was removed, Jesus came to the place of waiting, and put his mark upon you, to return you to flesh under the new law for redemption. Make no mistake about what's being done for you..
People forget about the BILLIONS of Souls who lived and died on Earth before a tribe of Canaan or Israel even existed?
Where was the God of Israel all those millennia? What was Sin vs Savior throughout the ENTIRE Stone Age, which is 2,500,000 years in time span?
Yet some people 3000-2000 years ago create stories to control their tribesmen and to understand their reality, have principles and customs that differ from other tribes throughout the Earth… Write their versions of these things, and now people are mentally trapped in accepting these people's customs/principles because they wrote about a scary God?
The universal Creator, cannot exist inside that which it created. A Construct outside of itself, yet it's essence is the spirit that lives throughout the Universe. It never gave commandments, it never forced sacrifice, it never put man against man, it never shunned the female creation and pretended it was a cast out… but the Abrahamic religions HAVE done those things, written by the hand of men.
Fooling yourself is your own Free Will, yet regret and forever not knowing "what if I lived more freely as I pleased" will haunt you in the after life. The Universal Creator has no time for petty Laws, Principles… look out of a good telescope and that becomes clear. Also it's impossible to create a planet in 7 days; how long to fill the Earth with water? How long for lava to cool and rocks to create? How long for mountains to transform? You get the point, these ancient peoples had no idea about reality as we do now and created STORIES for principles, laws and customs.
The Living Spirit, the essence of the Universal Consciousness, the Creator… has no time for petty humans and their warring with each other over false idols, Gods and concepts. There are billions of galaxies, with trillions of stars, with more planets and moons. Humans and Earth are ONE outcome of all those trillions of outcomes. Does the Israel God also play general manager in those planetary systems as well?
Hopefully the point is made – you will not get punished for not believing or following ancient customs and ideas by people who barely understood themselves.
agree to disagree on this but God forgave to a certain extent, how do you explain Noah God gave the people a chance but destroy the world with water. And what about the people that were promised the promised land.. not so fortunate But God sent his only begotten to die for our sins and who ever believes in him will go to heaven. But becareful read your Bible because you can't just believe and go to heaven you have get baptized in Jesus name that's key to believing in Christ.
