Fargo is the only one I can think of that did not fit into QT's subgenre. Perhaps it was its own subgenre creation as well, crime drama comedy but instead of vapid pop culture references based dialogue, the Coen's accomplished this earnest tonal devotion that incorporated all the quirks of a regional American subculture.
To me, Jackie Brown is his best movie. Way better than Pulp Fiction.
