So glad he asked "did you ever think "what the fuck is wrong with me, what am i doing?" For real though. If you were a wealthy, healthy, north american white man in your prime and all the options that entails, and then this? Dudes who do this stuff and climb Everest and what not always make me think there's some serious underlying stuff going on, like they're trying too hard to be a manly hero. Like how come there's not many of these stories where it's a group of women? Plenty of women love high adventure, but they generally don't do this type of it. Why is that?
