You should have Borge Ousland on the podcast, he's got some incredible stories.
Nat Geo is a shell of it's former self.
Two to three years before this video was posted to youTube, myself and many others had to call out Nat Geo on a number of incorrect statements in a video Nat Geo posted to youTube. For the first couple weeks I think they were just thrilled the video was getting so much attention. It took nearly a month for them to see WHY it was getting all the attention. To be fair, nearly two months after it was posted, they fixed the errors. It removed most of the credibility I used to give Nat Geo.
It is truly sad how far they have fallen.
Really should try and sue. Guy did alot of amazing things
What's even more impressive than all of this guys accomplishments is any who can talk to him for more that 3 minutes
The road matters because the ice has been flattened (here are no crevasses and no sastrugi) and you don't have to navigate. One picture doesn't tell much… Polar explorers agree it makes a huge difference, as the Nat Geo article points out. Ousland actually went from coast to coast, almost twice the distance. Sure he used a kite about 1/3, but he still went further than this guy unassisted.
