  1. Many believe that our body has a ghostly like spirit in us, and when we die it immediately goes to heaven or hell, or even a place called purgatory.

Let me clear the above misguided teaching by the wisdom of God.

    So let me explain.

It is written, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7 KJV

The above describes the whole entire human.

We see God formed a man. That is the body. We do not read of a ghostly spirit being put into that body.

Then what did God do after he made the man?

We see that God breathed into his nostrils. What does this entail? Did He really breath into the nostrils like mouth to mouth resuscitation?

We can get a good idea what he meant by these scriptures.

"Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord Ezekiel 37 KJV

There really is no difference from Gen 2:7

So how did God cause breath to come into the dry bones which he restored to a full body?

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live." Ezekiel 37

God called the four winds to come together and to breath upon the bodies so they can live.

Are the four winds a ghostly soul? Absolutely not. They are the "breath of life" as we have read.

And the breath of life also known as the spirit has no consciousness by itself. The breath of life is the spirit.

"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV

Other versions like the NET, God's Word Translation, uses "Breath of Life" in place of the word "Spirit."

From the above scripture, what exactly returns to the dust after it dies? The body. The very first thing to come about in Genesis 2:7.

Then what happens next? The Spirit (breath of life) returns to God who gave it. The second thing mentioned in Genesis 2:7.

What did God give to the body in Gen 2:7? Did he give the body a ghostly spirit? No. He gave to the body the "breath of life."

That is the only thing he gave to the body. So the breath of life returns back to him upon ones death. So, because the spirit returns to God who gave it, then it's obvious that the breath of life is the spirit. But the breath of life has no consciousness by itself, regardless if one is saved or not. The breath of life also known as the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Now, when the breath of life enters the body from Genesis 2:7, what happens next?

We see the body then becomes a living soul. The soul is the whole being. It is not a ghostly entity living inside the body. The soul is you. When you look into a mirror you are seeing a living soul. It's your body and it being alive because of the breath of life mentioned in Genesis 2:7. Not a ghost like spirit.

    Do we understand?

  2. Nothing much happens at death. We cease to exist as God decreed at Genesis 3:19.
That's why it is called death and not a transition.
Satan wanted humans to believe otherwise (Genesis 3:4).
