Rob couldn't discern between the two stages of Christ's return. That's his limitation, not the Bible's.
You don't need Tim LaHaye or Hal Lindsay to convince you of the rapture. All you need is the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit as your teacher.

I believe that a catching away of the Church is what the Bible is saying. I believe many people get the Olivet discourse teaching in Matthew chapter 23-24 in not referring to the Church. That's were some of the confusion comes in. Jesus' ministry was to Israel, during Jesus' life he was talking to his people. The Church was not yet existing, Jesus is talking about Israel and the Jews, the seven years of tribulation are allotted to Israel and the world. Israel to complete the last seven years of the 490 year prophecy of which 483 are complete. The world because of its sin. Jesus is coming back to save Israel 2/3 will be lost and 1/3 will be saved out of the tribulation. The false pre-tribulation rapture teaches everything is going to happen simultaneously, the believers and non believers will not be together. Correct me if I am wrong. I'll re-read the passages again and again, I'll search the Scriptures. When Jesus comes back to the earth every eye will see him (TV/Internet) maybe; his second advent he's going to touch down on the mount of Olives and it is going to split in two. We're not going to meet him in the air at that time, search the Scriptures.
