At that detailed level he may be right but from up high, the west shouldn't be in the middle east, it has only made things worse.
The problem is whether or not that good thing was effective. Usually creating a power vacuum just leads to other shitty people filling that void. Accomplishing nothing.
I hope I'm wrong, but I highly doubt the terrorists they took out were not replaced by people as bad or worse.
