What a shame that King David succumbed to the temptation to commit adultery with Bathsheba, then he had Uriah, her husband, killed in order to get her. No wonder God was quite displeased with him. Nathan was not only willing to tell King David the painful truth, but he was courageous enough to do so at great risk to his own life. Fortunately, David was humble enough to realize how bad his sin was, and he confessed it to God and cried out unto God to forgive him. God did forgive him, although David had to bear the serious consequences for his sin.
