  1. The best aspect of his shows was that each episode was a “love letter” to that particular location. He didn’t just hang out with rich people but also with the locals and gave them their flowers as well. He was snarky but also humble. Humble in a way that most celebrities aren’t, even those that claim to be humble.

  2. I travel for work with my dad a lot and we’d be at the hotel after work and I would be flipping Thur the TV channels and if parts unknown was on, id watch whatever episode was on at the time, even if it was an episode I’d seen already id watch it. That’s how i introduced my dad to Anthony bourdain and after a while he had gotten interested and he would check cnn to see what was on and if parts unknown was on we’d watch it. This was like years before Anthony bourdain died so fast forward to when bourdain passes. I’m in Hawaii with my family on vacation and my dad was back at home in Az. He calls me it was early like 4 or 5am in Hawaii cuz he’s in Az and and I answer his call while I’m half asleep he’s says “have u seen the news” I’m literally half asleep Im like “no it’s really early here” and he says “that guy that travels passed away” I’m like “who, which guy?” He says the guy on CNN. And boom it’s hits me and I ask him “Anthony Bourdain?” He’s like “yea him” and I instantly feel sick to my stomach and broken and I put him on speaker and look at the news on my phone and sure enough he had passed and I instantly felt sad for someone who I had never met but watch on TV but I felt like I knew him. I had watch him ever since No reservations then in layover and finally in parts unknown. He was my number 2 famous celebrity I would have like to have met right behind Keanu Reeves. RIP my friend I hope you’re enjoy your favorite entrees In the after life.
