Sony, Warner and Universal, the three major music labels, had a combined one billion dollars in increased revenue in 2017. Every year since their combined revenue increases by billions more. Yes, their was a period where “parts of the ship” fell off and revenue was dropping significantly. But like most long standing industries, the record business found a way to change their business model (mostly through streaming) and adapt to modern times, most likely eventually surpassing the size, scope and profitability of the business even during its most successful periods…Too big to fail? These days it’s “never big enough”. The three majors, even with lull periods, will always come out bigger and stronger. The corporate controlled structure of our “democratic” government will always see to that…..
