  1. My favorite Bible story is when the 11 go fishing after the cruisifictisn. They were out all night and didn’t catch anything. I’m pretty sure with how they were feeling there wasn’t much fishing being done. Here comes Jesus! “How’s the fishing boys?!” I can hear the grumbling! “Throw out your over here!” John says, hey! It’s Jesus! Then Peter jumps overboard. I can actually here Jesus laugh at this point. Then Jesus fixes them all breakfast. Feed my sheep!

  2. I have read and re read this story in the gospels many times. It demonstrates the simplicity of Jesus in dealing with the demonic host and the powers of darkness when confronted by the Son of God. The demons would have known Jesus as the Son of God from eternity past. Demons are the part of the fallen angels who are a class of beings created by God and they would have seen Him in His heavenly realm and in His glory. They would have born witness to Him having created mankind and God's pronouncement of judgement of damnation on not only Satan but also all those fallen angels who had sided with Satan in his rebellion. In His human form Jesus was humble in spirt but mighty in His ability to control humanity but demons were cast out of heaven, never again to share in the heavenly realm but promised by God a future in the lake of fire. This story is exemplary of Jesus's mighty power while the townspeople were afraid of Him who had been in their midst during His earthly ministry

  3. THE DEVILS GOT INTO THE HOG. Having taken a ship (Noah's) at Capernaum, with his disciples, Jesus passed over the lake (the rainy season), and arrived at the country of the Gadarenes (a patronym of Gad, God or Aries = March. As he was about to land, a naked man (the dreary and desolate Earth) met him. This poor man was possessed by a legion, or collection of Devils, who compelled him to go naked and dwell in the tombs (winter months). He had often (every winter) been caught by them and bound in chains and fetters (frost). But he had just broken his fetters, and was dwelling in the wilderness, the devils still keeping possession of him. The man wanted to get rid of them but they held on. When the Savior sided with the man, the naughty devils besought him not to order them into the deep. So, Jesus, commiserating the poor devils, told them to get into a herd of swine close by. No sooner, however, had they got possession of the unlucky grunters, than they raised the devil with them, and they all ran violently down a steep bank into the lake, and were choked.

The hog was an emblem of winter. It is too late in the day to deny this. On some very ancient Greek coins a lion is seen killing a boar, i.e., summer succeeds winter. The Syrian Adonis was killed by a boar, and his death and resurrection were once celebrated the same as in the case of our Savior. See R. Payne Knight's Symbolical Language of Ancient Art and Myth., p. 86, “The Dumb man possessed of a Devil” was the Earth in winter; the blind man, the same.

  4. Its pathetic. That bible has many versions. Now tell me…are the words in the Bible, words of God or man? There are religion who doesn't allow their members to eat pig because of this story which is being believed to happened and being preached now. There is a saying that believe in your truth and convince enough people to believe your truth. In "Time Immemorial" it will be the truth that most men and women, historians, priest, pastors or man of religion will preach and will even produce proof of material that would be seen in museum or church halls. I believe that "kingdom of God is within each and everyone of us" That Bible is full of stories that was created and written by man. See, those stories that were told by those apostles or even by version of King James are being accepted and become referenced by most people who share the Gospel of God. Not all words that are written in any religious book should represent the work or the words of God. (just sayin')
