  1. Hey Joe, I have crps 2, nicknamed the suicide disease bc the pain level is just beneath being burned alive. She is part of the reason that I am in agony all the time. If you're a diabetic you're going to be addicted to/dependent on insulin. If you have a painful disease, you'll be dependent on pain medication for the rest of your life. Get Claudia Merandi on!

  2. There is no such thing as "being addicted to golf".
This is where I question psychiatry in general and their categorising of addictions.
Something that gives a serene sense of relief, like Golf or going into nature, is not an addiction.
It's relief and regeneration. It's nothing like an actual drug like porn or sex addiction, or any drug addiction where you essentially mess up the dopamine cycle. Things like long walks, running, Golf, hiking, etc are actual dopamine resets. They completely balance and calm your brain and hormones.

  3. She nails it with when and how that athletic road comes to an end. My knees arthritis ended my ability to run and play hoop. This was made me miserable in my late 20s thus the dirty 30s.

  4. I think what she means with not rewarding yourself is that when you accomplish something you should not always reward yourself for that accomplishment. For example you worked overtime and now you’re going to reward yourself with a new watch or something. Instead enjoy the feeling of the accomplishment. Be humble with it. That feeling itself should be the reward. Not something like an ice cream after a run or a bottle of wine. Let the moment pass and be content with. I think that way you stay grounded and are able to continue to focus on accomplishing more things.
