  1. 34.5 degrees is the ideal for a male. This is just below body temp. The trick is to lay still and what happens is you get a small cocoon of solution warmed up to your body – thats when you lose sensation of your body and it is like floating in outer space. If you get a muscle twitch or an arm or leg kicks out just lay still and settle back into it, you will quickly warm up the water around you again. Saying a mantra, phrase or even just counting backwards from 100 works for me. Other technique is with eys closed look up towards your pineal gland whilst utilising other techniques. Let it happen and dont force it or have any expectations as each float is diffent from the last. Also when you first get in as Joe says orient yourself and give yourself a couple of minutes to acclimatise before starting meditating etc. It is not so much what happens in the tanks its more how you feel later on but you can have some really colourful visuals and experiences whilst in the tank.
