i mean he didnt seem to know him so i wouldnt imagine he would know he was protecting his stuff… seems like a weird reason to get pissed off at someone
now if he knew that he was doing it then i can see him being a jerk for sure but i would have to say that Belshazzar is probably up there for most foolish man
And, the first Adam was/is the most foolish man in the Bible.
Well, not true. Nabal’s wife said that her husbands name meant ‘foolish.’ However, Nabal was ‘Not’ foolish. Nabal was wise and smart, a business man. If David had attacked Nabal his location and whereabouts would have been known. There spies everywhere. Unfortunately many people who read the entire story aren’t understanding the narrative. King Saul was holding anyone accountable for aiding David, who was running and hiding from king Saul. Word got around through mouth that anyone caught helping David would suffer death. It was no mystery that king Saul ordered the chief priest Ahimelech and the 85 priests at Nob to be killed by Doeg a Edomite(1 Samuel 22:6-24). King Saul had spies everywhere, everyone became a spy. And people would tell on one another constantly. Doeg told king Saul about the priests giving David a weapon, one of Nabals servants told Nabals wife about Nabal refusing to help David. You wonder why? After all that David did for Nabal? Obviously Nabal knew, like most everybody else, about the priests being slaughtered along with all the other people in Nob, and he was afraid to be a victim of the kings wrath losing his life and everybody and everything too. So, he denied David any aid. And notice he denied David very ‘loudly’ in the story so that ‘itching’ ears would hear and possibly go back and reassure the king Nabal was not aiding David, smart. Somebody told Nabal what his wife did to help David, more rumor. At that point Nabal knew his life as he knew it was over. Even though Nabals wife said her husbands name meant fool doesn’t mean he was a fool judging by the entire story. Another reason to study and ‘rightly’ divide the word of truth.many times people have to make choices, and there choices might seem foolish without others seeing the bigger picture. Through the wife God stopped David from attacking Nabal which also allows the readers to see that God had not considered Nabal to be a fool.
David sounds like a murder and a thief. Someone was disrespectful to him so he sets out go kill them and take their livestock and properties? Seriously! How can god favor someone who acts like this?
America is under attack from spiritual wickedness across the land, a delusion will be poured out on them. Look at our schools, Biden administration and crime rate. Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for their heathen perverted ways and america is even worse. Stand up for what's right it's our duty or woe unto us.
