While I think its probably true that wealthier countries might still have higher suicide rates on average, I think that there is a massive problem with underreporting due to stigma in developing countries. No family will want to deal with the fallout of one of their own committing suicide in these highly gossipy countries. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
