These wealthy countries never faced the difficulties of 3rd world countries. That’s why when difficulties come they don’t know how to deal with them.
Life in prosperous countries for most people is also a race to stay ahead of everyone else. You fall behind a little, you fall behind more until all hope is lost. At least that is the message drilled into us from childhood on.
the issue is not everyone is never cold, or, hot, or has a full kitchen. in a poor country you might be poor but you have a stable plateau. in america your only as stable as you next check. we dont have communal living, or sharing. your on a solo team, maybe a duo with limited outside support. and your shamed if you use any support. and there are some hoops and restrictions you better believe. if you live in a rural part of some broke country you might have zero prospects of mobility but your gonna be ok. people that make under 50k a year are 50x more likely to commit suicide. because they are living week to week. if your an urban person making under 50k (your metros economy might be different) a year in a metro. your up shits creek overnight if anything goes wrong in your life.
