His point was definitely not that cigarettes should be banned. It was that in a nation where the government pays for health insurance it is economically more effective to tax the activities that put you at risk of using that insurance.
Don’t punish them tax them is a punishment right?
Banning something that gives people cancer is the beginning of the slippery slope? One of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
There’s a difference between doing gymnastics and doing something that WILL give you cancer.
