In my thinking, I have boundaries and I watch him do things (3yo) and if it’s “bad” to me I intervene and take it away or stop him from saying things. I want him to listen to me but I was terrible father the first 2 years but now he’s starting to call me daddy more often for help or to do things. If I’m smoking weed outside my wife calls me and says “he’s not wanting watch the movie , to sleep, and keeps calling for daddy.”
Things have changed. I was at $tarbucks a few years ago and in talking with the young girl being behind the counter we were talking about cell phones. I mentioned that when I was growing up we didn’t have cell phones. Her response was, No way! Made feel real old. And I wasn’t, but I felt that way.
