The rule does state you are not allowed to fake an injury. Cutelaba broken the rule and paid a hefty price.
I dont think its was a bad stoppage. He wanted to play possum and fake his way out, how referee suppose to know if its fake or real. Like Joe said, referee doesnt want fighters to take crucial damage and save them from being dead or handicapped.
Well, at least after the 2nd fight, there is no more question as to who is the better fighter
