Please don't attack me for saying this, but I like Monsanto and I am a GMO supporter. I don't see any real need for organic farming. I don't understand why my comments attract such abuse, I'm only an average man who happens to believe in Monsanto, that's all. ) :
I come from a long line if farming families. Since I grew up on the farm, more and more chemicals have been introduced. They used to do something called summer-fallow. They would do this to turn the soil, let it rest for a year to regenerate, kill the weeds. Now, they don't do summer-fallow, they don't let the land rest for a year, they don't kill weeds without chemical. They spray the crop early to kill the weeds, they spray to kill the crop so they can harvest, God forbid there is a insect infesting the crop -they will spray a pesticide. So, what? You think the plants aren't drinking the chemicals washed into the soil by the rain. Don't eat, might be best.

there are MANY positives to the safe use of many of these chemicals.

Weeds are going to eventually evolve not only a defense against us but also attacks. One day weeds are going to be shooting out toxins at us.
