Everyone keeps asking, “What are the symptoms for C.diff.” As a survivor of this Hellish Superbug infection let me share. CLINDAMYCIN antibiotic is the drug most commonly prescribed for infections that will cause it! Don’t take it! After days on it you will then start having unrelenting diarrhea and vomiting. It doesn’t stop ever!! You will become weak, dehydrated, severe stomach cramps that can knock you out.
Dr will feed you other antibiotics
but good chance won’t help. Last resort is Vancomycin antibiotic. Pulse dosing. I had lost 20 lbs, lay in bed 3 months, ended in ER completlydehydrated. IV’s of saline for hours. Get a INFECTIOUS DISEASE doctor not a gastroenterologist. It took a year to regain my health. Nearly died from this, YET the docs Still prescribe Clindamycin!! YES GET A FECAL TRANSPLANT, they were in trials when i was sick so wasn’t treated.
I got C-Diff twice from antibiotics. That is the most painful thing I've gone through. And the Vancomycin they give you to take care of the C-Diff makes you so sick. It's like taking poison. I'm very weary of antibiotics now. Especially Clindamycin.
its funny that people still treat probiotics like snake oil, when they're universally helping everyone (or at least having a an effect, maybe bloating or negative for some). Incredible.
