  1. An English aristocrat brought rabbits over to Oz just so he could shoot them for sport. Some of them escaped and now we have (or have had in the recent past) literally billions of them. They dig burrows everywhere, eat everything, and ruin good farmland. My grandfather fought a life-and-death battle with them all the time while he was running a sheep station. He used to pump poison gas into the burrows. Nowdays there are biological control measures which are initially quite effective, but they develop resistance – it's a never ending battle.

  2. just a follow up to the cane toad, the local crows have learned to turn the cane toads over and eat the soft underside. some snakes have learned to tolerate the cane toad poison when toads are small.

  3. Licking cane toads is something I witnessed in northern Australia. It's extremely dangerous because it's impossible to know what dosage you will receive. It takes only a small amount to give you life long brain damage.
