  1. The sugar cane industry played a big role in helping Australia grow just the same as sheep, wool and cattle and mining did the BSES meeting was held in 1932 at the international society of sugar cane technologists at Puerto rica, was where arthur frank bell learned of and reported on the success of the gaint American toad (bufo marinus) known as the cane toad in reducing the cane beetle problem so he did do his research but yet failed to see the real problem of their population status and the effects it would do to the wildlife 2400 cane toads were released in 1935 at gordonvale nth Queensland

  2. Native animals are evolving exponentially to flip them before they eat them. .it took a while to catch on but.
We don't even bother killing them or trying to run over them anymore like when we were kids. They are locals here now because we can't beat them, so we embraced them. They are super toads compared to their cousins in the Amazon and Hawaii. They are twice as big and twice as fast and can cross the Outback like a dingo.
and all dogs here above 10kgs love them. They can almost kill a tiny dog but most dogs just lick them to get high. True.

  3. I saw an article in The Australian a couple of years back where a dead crocodile had been killed by jngesting a cane toad. These creatures are true VERMIN. They are crossing northern Australia to Western Australia. They are killing our natural fauna. This is a huge environmental problem here.
