How do I start this story. First, notice that Moses is transfigured. That means that Moses isn't dead and buried, he is transfigured in heaven. So when Satan challenged Michael for the body of Moses it was because Moses was about to be resurrected. But why would God resurrect Moses? Because Moses had the Authority over sins. Jesus could not die for our sins if Moses held the authority. That authority had to be passed from Moses to Jesus. Elijah and the Father were witnesses to this event. God confirmed this at the mount. Moses said one day there is a prophet that will come and be like him. "Him you shall hear." Then the Father says, "HEAR HIM, at the mount. So when they asked Jesus by what authority do you do these things. Jesus said., "I have been given (GIVEN) all authority"
