I’m 76. I go to the gym two days a week and run on a track 4/days a week. I ran a ten k last June. I’m running very slowly for a long time. It keeps you in zone 2. But time on your feet is the most important.
I love Dr Peter but this is some high income, high function utopian reality right? What average person who is time poor, money challenged, raising a family and eating 14 different kinds of shit from their corporate overlords has time to do 4 x 45 minute high intensity cardio workouts a week? Am I missing something here?
I used to walk 10 miles a day to school in knee deep snow. It was uphill BOTH ways. It's funny, but it seemed shorter in the summer. Maybe because the snow was only a foot deep then.
P.S. I just finished watching a scene from "Dirty Harry" right before this one. His shirt says Callahan. LOL

So, if you want to live 10 extra years you need to work out like an elite athlete and then sleep the rest of the day to recover.
