Found merit to your story. I've seen one of these mounds here in Alabama close to Mobile and it's a massive thing. About 70 feet tall and roughly 100 feet in diameter at the base. Local lore tends to support the notion that a tribal chief is buried there. I wonder. Emerson shortly after the turn of the century wrote a supposed account by Olaf Janzen, who was born around 1811 who claimed he and his father discovered inner earth and a race of giants there. Heights of 12 to 15 feet tall were the norm for men. Women around 11 feet. Thought the writer wrote it as fiction, one interesting fact was Janzen lived about 6 years in Chicago before moving to LA where he later died at 95 years old. Decades later, Admiral Richard Byrd reported meeting the MASTER aluded by Janzen in his memoirs his nephew published after his death. So, it would seem very possible that there is some truth to your story. Giants were everywhere. Like you said, that history didnt fit the scientific paradigm. Evolution is garbage science. There is something about giants in the Solomon Islands we have similar stories in Samoa of giants we call Sau’ai or “they come to eat”. Not benevolent. They dwell in an underground cave system called Pulotu that connects all the islands in the Pacific.
