As an Easterner, I was introduced to how free living, non-reservation (or if it was, I didn't know it was) living American Indians lived and approached things out West. I saw why we don't trust them to be conservators, and why they probably wouldn't be good factual story tellers (facts don't seem to matter to them anyway). I can't say that I came away impressed in any way with the males of those societies, but some of the females did work hard to support their stay-at-home husbands.
