My boss was hunting, I forgot where. But him and the people he was with were on their 3rd day of hiking, I believe, and they were MILES into it. They were walking, and my boss looked over to find a mother bear with her 3 cubs a decent distance away, but still close enough that the bear got spooked and charged his friend. His friend was lucky enough to let a shot off, but somehow, the bear changed direction and went straight for my boss. Before he could react and grab any defense weapon, the bear had knocked him down and was on top of him with his forearm in her mouth, and in the midst of being attacked, he managed to grab his bear spray and got her in the face, and she let go and ran off. He's really lucky. He came back to work not too long after and only had some small holes in his arm.
Bears rules:
If is black, fight back.
If is brown, lay down.
If its white, say goodnight.
I’ve saw one grizzly bear in my life that was easily 800 lbs.
