Contact me – Federal Tribal Prosecutor for Indian Country.
So many non Indigenous people have so much to say about how we Indigenous people are drug addicts etc but I wonder how they would feel if we Indigenous people ran the world and took their kids from them. As someone who was place from my European abusive father to another European abusive family. I put me out as soon as I was 18 because I wouldn't stop being who I was. And at the time only knowing my mother was of Mexican nationality that alone made those white folks mad because I listened to the same music my momma did. They forced us to go to church and it was so horrible and abusive 😔 I still have night terrors about it. I'm reconnecting to my family and to my Indiginatiy and I am proud to say I will never allow someone to remove my child without a fight. They want to exterminate us Indigenous people and they way they see fit is to remove the ICWA. It's Genocide periodt
I don't think ICWA is good for us Naive People at least in my case. My tribes ICWA department sent the Indian Custodian document to CPS 5 months later. Someone needs to be held accountable .
How we assimilate…treat our reservations like a state. Treat us as separate states.
And I do want the child act removed. Because it's obvious we can't do it alone! "Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women"
Go look at a video. We are 5x as likely for abuse, murder and go Missing than any other race in the US. Our reservations are full of abuse cycles from top to bottom! I was 1 of 3 kids that didn't get abused, molested or raped in a tribe of 2,300 people. 1 of 3.
I raised my sisters because my mom has been a junkie for 3 decades. Our dad lives with a different family and never helped us. Our people…I love our culture…but the reservations, being victimized by our own people because they had suffered…its been this way for decades.
Statistically, Native American children that are taken away from their Native American communities have higher rates of suicide.
