I live in Kenosha. Only one person shot and killed someone in our city that night. Believe what you want, but that is a fact.
Those riots/protests were horrible for our city. Many businesses were destroyed. But there was absolutely no reason for an underage kid from out of state to be there with an assault rifle. In the end, did he legally defend himself under the law? Yes. But he unnecessarily helped create that situation.
Guns can be used to protect oneself, and people should have the right to responsible ownership. But when guns are unnecessarily injected into a situation, they have a chance to escalate things very quickly, and far beyond any point they would have otherwise reached. And that's exactly what happened in my city that night.
Even if Rittenhouse HAD killed a bunch of black people, it wouldn't matter. You don't get to chase people down and beat them in the street.
