We are not ‘spirits clothed with flesh’ the word has been mistranslated from the word for “Breath”. When God breathed into Adam’s body he became a living soul. ( Body + Breath = Life) The Heart refers to a man’s Mind or Thoughts which perish ( cease to exist) when the Breath leaves the body and does not return ( respiration stops). It has been said that “The dead know nothing at all and take no part in anything done on Earth for their thoughts have perished” (Died) Nowhere in all the times that the dead were resurrected did they speak of being somewhere else after death, they were OBLIVIOUS to everything ( In Oblivion, a state of non existence ). This idea that we are immortal spirits is part of the Original Lie told to Adam and Eve “Surely, you will Not Die, but become like God,( a Spirit Being ) knowing Good and Evil” ( To become able to determine for themselves what is Good and what is Evil – Something you can clearly see we are STILL DOING TODAY).
