What if, he's learning what "Truthers" believe, to better combat it. They must be really scared that their approach to doctrine is shakey. TO NOT EVEN ASK, crazy.
I think the pastor (at my previous lifelong church) has ventured down some of these newfound roads…but also afraid of some of the elders who've been there for40-50 yrs.
This was an excellent interview. I always am impressed by the spirit of gentleness with which Zen Garcia presents. Nate Reynolds, I am so sorry to hear that this is what occurred for you. I love the spirit in which you spoke of your situation and the godly way that you handled discussing it without names. I am particularly saddened to hear the recent change. I sensed you were so close to truth. I personally have to wonder if a spirit of fear has not in some way come, as there has been a drastic change. When it comes to truth, the enemy is alive an active. I pray that the Holy
Spirit will lead you into all truth.
We need to test and prove all things and only hold onto what is good. 1 Thess 5:21. We need to test ALL the doctrine, and do our own search with the whole of scripture, making sure our doctrine doesn't come from cherry picked verses that are not supported by the whole of scripture. This interview was in line with the fruits of the spirit. We inherited a lot of lies from the RCC, more then we ever realized.
For me listening to JP McMahon from the way biblical fellowship and 119 ministries on the Pauline paradox, the truths of the entire scripture opened up to me, and helped me test and prove doctrine and only hold to what was good. I hope you choose to take time to view these….the way biblical fellowship….butchered doctrine series and 119 ministries the Pauline paradox, or JP McMahon's exegesis of Galatians, Romans, and other epistles.
