Afghanistan was an eye opener for me too brother. I never take a single thing for granted thanks to my two tours. You couldn't have painted a better picture.
I think while one should always be concerned about their civil liberties being taken away during a crisis such as this. At the same time Joe already stated the problem with American culture when he was talking about the lock downs being enacted and the fact at how difficult it will be to enforce such a thing because Americans (me being one of those btw) are all about our rights and no one will take them away. Yet it's this very mentality that could cause massive harm during a pandemic like coronavirus. Just look at the idiot youth with their "No one is stopping me from going to spring break!!" attitudes. This could and probably already has caused massive problems, to the point where you're almost wishing that they would make it a law that prevents these kids from seriously undermining the efforts to curve this outbreak. So sometimes just like when dealing with kids, you have to make rules for their safety that they will probably not like, but its for their benefit and many others. We Americans can be just like little children sometimes because we have been pampered and sheltered, living in a great country that has given us so much, both in terms of freedoms and amenities of a fruitful and wealthy nation. But right now those freedoms and that attitude could have serious repercussions. Im American, and I certainly don't want my freedoms taken away. But I also want this pandemic under control because if the shit really hits the fan, we'll be losing those freedoms and those comforts regardless because our economy and infrastructure is going to tank big time.
In moments of trouble, be careful of the people who use those moments for malicious intent.
I remember where people was told there crazy for doomsday prepping….guess the basement and bunker full of food and stuff is paying off now…wish I had of prepped myself
