Whattt there's no way Poirier was the favorite. He was the favorite cuz he's from Louisiana, not because he was deemed the better fighter. It was pretty obvious to me Charles was gonna submit him. Oliveira's chin is top tier, and even if he gets knocked down, he goes into full jiu-jitsu mode and no one can actually finish him. A proper wrestler like Islam would most definitely be able to capitalize on Oliveira resorting to the ground game. But strikers have no chance against this guy… And his confidence in stand-up is something else.. it's like he is unafraid of getting boxed and trades every time with his Muai Thai knee kicks.
