The sons of God are not necessarily spiritual beings. Spiritual has the sentiment of intangible. When Jesus rose from the dead, He asked Thomas to touch Him and confirm that He was indeed a human being, not a spiritual being. The sons of God referenced in the Old Testament likely had flesh and bones. Otherwise, touching them in marriage would be attempting to touch the intangible.
Genesis 28:12 reads that Jacob saw a stairway from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending the ladder. That is likely how the sons of God who had flesh and bones came to earth and intermingled with humans.
Wrong! When God was creating, He stated "each to its own kind". No intermating between species. Moses called them "men of old, men of renown." They were men. Jesus tells us angels can neither marry or reproduce. Peter and Jude said all the fallen angels are bound in chains in hell until judgement day.
Sons of God means any one in service to God…God calls us His sons and daughters…Jesus was a son of God.
The Nephelim were already there (and afterward) when the men of old/renown took wives. Therefore, cannot be the offspring.
The Nephelim were the offspring of Cain. God gave a mark to Cain so people were afraid to kill him. The mark was a growth on the pituitary gland and causes giantism. Canaanites and then the Palestinians came from Cain's line. Goliath was a descendant.
They were Jesus brothers. Right? Sons of god?
I have yet to figure out how so many people can't seem to understand the Scriptures. Angels or fallen angels have nothing to do with what transpired in Genesis 6. Please learn how to follow the story to understand it. Chapter 4 gives us the genealogy of Adam's lineage that rebelled against God. Chapter 5 gives us the genealogy of those who continued to follow and worship God. Chapter 6 explains how the sons of God from Chapter 5 rebelled against God, lusted after Adam's pagan lineage and married them against God's will.
It's not rocket science, People.
Please note that the first mention of angels in any form is not mentioned until chapter 18. Please study, check, and verify everything that people teach about God's Word as the Bereans did. Why do you think the example was given? STUDY!!!!!!!
