I started vaping I don't know maybe two or so weeks ago. I wanted to try that because quite honestly… I started smoking at age 16 I'm now 44 and I've got a lot of family members that have died from cigarette related disease illness etc etc. So I decided to start vaping. And maybe five or six days into it I started noticing persistent chest pain right at my sternum just to the left and up about an inch. And of course I'm thinking of myself.. holy shit I'm having like a fucking heart attack or something… So I end up going to the emergency room..
They did the EKG the x-ray of my lungs and blood work and my heart's fine and there's no spots or anything on my lungs…
I told the doctor there that I started vaping and he told me to my face maintaining eye contact that vaping is much worse in general for the human body than cigarette smoking. And I had to think about that for a minute. Now I'm not the authority on this I'm not a doctor but I do know that cigarettes contain literally thousands of different carcinogic chemicals. Vaping only contains a handful.
But I think it's that propylene glycol or whatever the hell it's called I think that's the one that is of the most concern. It seems as though a lot of companies advertise it as propylene glycol but they're putting the other chemical in that is highly toxic as opposed to the propylene glycol even though that's the one listed in the ingredients.
Now if that's all true that is rather concerning. Truth be told I can breathe easier since I started vaping my chest doesn't hurt at all anymore and I mean I'm using the e-liquid that's got the 3% nicotine because I legitimately am trying to quit.
Are any of you familiar with whatever the actual truth is regarding vaping versus smoking cigarettes? Do any of you honestly know which one is worse and why specifically?
