All the things that China does in regards to global resources the McMaster is talking about America has already done at the barrel of a gun. What do you think those 800 bases around the world are for?
The thing is bringing back manufacturing alone will not make American industry more competitive. The same products will cost triple what the cost from overseas. In order for America to compete it needs automation. But with automation it’s replacing all the low skill labor that manufacturing was supposed to bring. I don’t see how the working class can win from this scenario.
china is doing something concrete in Africa its literally building Africa, so what can we do as the USA. we need to do the same thing and provide Africa the knowledge and the resources it needs to get out of poverty and become middle income continent. who ever wins Africa wins the future. if china wins Africa it would have all the resources of Africa and manpower to power china in to the 22nd century. so instead of complaint on what china is doing in Africa you should ask yourself what is the USA doing for Africa. The African leaders summit in the USA was a good start now let us build on that. we have all the capabilities Africa needs to build its economies and emerge from poverty and as humans we are grateful to those who help us, but the only help the africans see now in Africa is Chinese help they are the ones building ports railways and hospitals, these things endear people to you. what are we doing to endear The USA to Africans. I will tell you. if you want to win the future you must win the young. educate Africas young students build American schools all over the continent and all those pupils who are being tough by American teacher in American schools in African would have American education and would be grateful to American because it would be American that teaches them how to make their living with diplomas from American schools. if you can't build infrastructure at least build up the people of the continent.
