its interesting that the moon god name is SiN…sin, sin is associated with darkness and evil behaviour. you can see the evolution of these words going into the new testament with Jesus the SON diety that heels but associates with demons and prostitutes, tax collectors and evil aswell as heals the blind. No Wonder Jesus was called the Prince Of Demons. Mesopotamia had moon gods and Egypt Sun gods. Its all very cool.
So, Abram possibly turned away from the moon, hence the moritorium on astrology and idol worship.
