well that's not so , because from my knowledge from research i did years' ago , so i'm a bit fuzzy on details . but Castrati in order to become a castrato at a young age before puberty a clamp was put around the young boys scrotum and the testis would be squeezed until popped and smashed , while others would actually be fully castrated which is down before the boy goes into puberty both ways , which stops testosterone production in the body and gave the young boys a extremally high pitched voice when singing . and it was only the best of singers among the boys with the best singing voice this would be done to in order to lower there voice even more after extensive practice. And it was Considered an honor of high prestige for you to become a castrato. so they would of still been able to perform sexually in the bed room either way between the two ways i mention of how the boys became castrati .
However the eunuchs far far back in history there even mentioned in the bible but they would be trusted advisors/confidants/attendees to kings and queen's. They would be exactly the same as the castrati , some would have there scrotum removed and some had both there penis and scrotum removed , But it wasn't as nearly as in common due to the fact that often times the men that would have had there penis and stratum removed would often die from the surgery , compactions , infections in the urinary tract & in the bladder ect. but thats not to say there there wasn't any , just that it was uncommon in comparison but by definition eunuchs where those whom had no genitals like castrati. Its just that they would take a vow to not have sex through the church when serving Kings or Queens , which in those times i'm sure was often broken. but of course they would never be able to have any children neither eunuchs or castrati as i'm sure you'd assume .
so i'm sure that the rumors of the castrati being excellent lovers during that period of time, That it was practiced in Italy/Rome are quit true as there's nothing to suggest that it wouldn't be , knowing that sex ''was'' capable by castrated boys/men. because it was something that was précised for centuries through out history until the eunuchs was banned & stopped around the world.
