You can’t compare healthcare and the fire department.
The goal for fires is to put out fires. A larger population does not equate to more or larger fires.
The goal of doctors is to treat/cure illness and ailments. A larger population ALWAYS equates to more illness and/or ailments.
This is what Dan Crenshaw I think missed when he was trying to differentiate the fire department from health care. He was on the right track when he was talking about per capita, and how many doctors we have per capital. But you can’t compare doctors to firefighters per capita as a fair comparison for success in public health and public services.
Joe is so naive,,, if you let the government decide whether your medication or surgery is necessary, suddenly you will feel like a stray dog at the pound.
So you think Dan that having your healthcare tied to your employer is fair, democratic and unchangeable?
Medicare advantage is nothing but allowing the INSURANCE company dictate where/ when you go to the dr.
Why wouldn’t healthcare be a public good or service like fire departments, police, etc? Isn’t better for our citizens to be well? Wouldn’t it cost us less money as a nation if more of our people were healthier for longer? If they got the help they needed they’d require major medical assistance later in life rather than sooner.
