You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent. The more sophisticated the game, the more sophisticated the opponent.
In a system where competence is linked with rewards, people don’t like the transparency with which their lack of competence is exposed.
Reminded of research which shows 70% of drivers think they’re above average. People hate the realization that they might be below average, it’s too much work to raise your abilities and position in life. Easier to be a grumbler blaming the system.
